This spring, Rattafest will travel through the rolling hills of Setomaa, where around every bend you can see a small lake or a picturesque village, where you can learn to dance Seto dances, listen to the captivating melodies of a leelo choir or a karmoška.
Reigo Ahven, Jalmar Vabarna, Kristo Elias
On the Värska singing stage, the Seto-speaking “Tereh!” will be said by Jalmar Vabarna, the leader of the first day of the trip and the host of the Treski campsite. Saturday, however, belongs to environmental journalist and TV presenter Kristo Elias, who is leading the heated debate evenings of the bike trip for the third year in a row. On the third day, we will see Seto musician Reigo Ahvena, who will take on the last day of the trip, injecting his bubbling energy into the hikers.
This year it is located in the picturesque Seto village of Treski, between a forest and a strawberry field, which is known to many music lovers as the venue for the summer Treski Fest. We will stay at the camp for both nights. This year there is also the opportunity to go to the sauna after a tiring day and then taste exciting local food and drinks. The security team ensures safety.
On the trail we will pass through exciting discovery stops, where there will be local talks about the history of the stop, and in some places it is also possible to browse souvenirs and visit a cafe. Every day will be highlighted by Estonian artists: Zetod, Nedsaja Küla Bänd, Sadu, Vaiko Eplik, Mari Jürjens and many others.
At the campsite in the Treski küün, immerse yourself in our camp program, where educational presentations on environmental topics await you. In addition, a public recording of the Night University will take place. In the tent camp area, there are workshops, inspiring presentations and educational talks about the environment and mental health topics, so that we can take the time to find a new rhythm within ourselves. In the evening, we also heat up the saunas to keep your muscles warm and offer both breakfast and dinner.
Admission to the bike festival, wristband, trail map, 2x dinner, 2x breakfast, sauna access in Treski, 7 concerts, 25 local stories, workshops, 10 experiences and presentations in Treski, 24/7 medical assistance, 24/7 security team, 24/7 bike assistance, vans Värska-Treski-Värska, tent site in the tent camp.
When you arrive in Värska on May 15, look for the mandate tent by the singing stage. There, you will be given the corresponding wristbands, trail maps, etc. based on your ticket.
If you come by car, you can leave your car in the guarded parking lot next to the Värska singing stage. You will return to the parking lot on Sunday at the end of the course. If you have a driver who does not drive on the track, they can take you to the starting point and from there to the Treski campsite car park if they wish. In Treski they need a separate parking ticket in Treski. This costs 25 € and does not include entrance to the Festival area, only access to parking. See the question about this below.
Parking next to the Värska singing stage costs an additional €15 and can be paid in cash on site. You will then be given a parking ticket, which must be displayed in a visible place on the desk.
For a caravan, you must purchase a caravan spot under the "Accommodation" page. The caravan ticket includes 5x8 m parking spot, electricity and utility service. PS. Trailer house also falls under the category of caravans.
Yes, you can park your escort vehicle in a separate car park and parking is charged. You can buy a parking ticket at the starting point in the registering point in Värska (price €25), for which you will receive a parking ticket and it must be placed on the dashboard of your car when entering Treski. It is also possible to pay in cash in Treski, but we strongly recommend that you do this process in the registering point, so that everything is smoother and faster. Parking for escort vehicles in Treski takes place in a separate marked area. This is to maintain traffic safety, because both cyclists and people on foot move on the same road.
If you have also purchased an event ticket for the event, but are not cycling the course yourself and would like to enter the camp in the evening, we ask that you exchange your ticket for a wristband at the starting point on Friday 15th May. PS. The event ticket does not include a parking ticket. All cars must be parked in the appropriate parking lot. You cannot enter the caravan park with a car.
PS: The accompanying car parking ticket does not include entrance to the festival area.
Medics are available 24/7 both on the track and at the camp. If an accident should occur on the track, you can immediately report it to the Rattafest emergency number and the medics will come to you. Medics are also available at larger stopping points such as the lunch camp.
Wearing a helmet is mandatory for those under 16 years of age according to Estonian law. However, we strongly recommend that everyone wear a helmet to avoid injuries and ensure a safe festival experience.
The trail is marked with appropriate signs. You will also receive a trail map at the starting point, which shows the trail with all the stopping points and additional information. Google offline map will also appear on our website before the event and will be sent to your email so you can see where you are on the course on your phone if you wish.
A very important question! At the cycling festival, everyone chooses their own pace. This is not a race, but a pleasant ride through the nature of Setomaa, enjoying cultural experiences, concerts and many other exciting things. The route is within everyone's reach, there is no need to rush. We recommend always taking a break when you feel like it and drinking plenty of water. We have a slogan that says "Find your rhythm"!
In this case, we ask you to call the Rattafest helpline and we will help you get back on the trail. A Google offline map will appear on the website before the event, and we will also send it to our hikers by email. The Google offline offline map is the fastest way to understand where you are and where the trail is located.
Hawaii Express bike assistance is available 24/7 on the trail, who will come to you and help you fix your bike. If your bike is still hopelessly broken, our support team will pick you up from the trail and will take you to the next stop while fixing your bike. It is important that you are on the designated trail at that moment in order for us to help you.
For that instance, we kindly ask you to fill up the enquiry form on ''Tranport'' page under the subpage ''Going with a bus''. We will get in touch.
If you come to the starting point in Värska by car, you will need to find a delivery van. The delivery van will pick up all larger packages and deliver them to the Treski camp. Starting on May 15th, at 18:00, you can pick up your packages from the Treski camp to unpack when you have arrived from the track. PS! Please mark your name and phone number on the packages if possible.
There are saunas on site, which are included in the price, and there is also a showering area. The cost of washing is €5. Please bring cash for this.
All well-behaved dogs are welcome to join us on this hike. It is important that the dog is leashed and securely attached. We ask that you keep your pet on a leash at the campsite and clean up after them to maintain cleanliness.
Your own food/snacks and non-alcoholic drinks are allowed. Grilling is only allowed in designated areas. However, we ask you to be careful and follow fire safety regulations. PS! If the weather is very dry and hot during the festival, the organizer reserves the right to prohibit fireplaces or grilling. This only applies to the Treski campsite.
We ask you to follow various tips on how to make staying in a tent as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. We recommend placing a thermal blanket under the tent floor mattresses and, if possible, choosing warmer sleeping bags and warm underwear. It is also strongly recommended that your tent has an extra cover, which most new tents already have, or the single wall of the tent is already sufficiently moisture-proof. A dry tent is what will ultimately keep you warmest.
In the evening we will make a fire in the campsite so that everyone can warm up. Please still bring warm clothes for the evening, because when your muscles cool down, your body may feel colder. A good tip is to bring rubber boots and warm socks from home, so your feet will be protected from moisture in the evening and will definitely be warm. If the weather is warm during the day, the moisture will sink to the ground by evening and the grass may be wet. In addition, you can go to the sauna in the evening to get your body pleasantly steamed.
Yes. The ticket salesite Piletitasku allows ESTO installment payments. You can also pay for glamping and caravan spot ticket in several installments via Inbank with payment links under ''Accommodation''.
